Students of Tatarstan are invited to participate in the expedition "School of Urban Changes" in Astrakhan.

      Registration is open for the student expedition "School of Urban Changes: Urban Toolkit and Pilot Projects for Astrakhan," which will take place from September 5 to 13, 2026, as part of the All-Russian program of student expeditions "Discovering Russia Anew" for the 2026 season. The expedition will bring together students from different regions of Russia, who will work on real tasks related to the development of the urban environment in Astrakhan. Participants will learn about modern approaches in the fields of urban studies, urban design, and engaging residents in the development of territories, as well as conduct field research, interviews, and mapping of urban spaces.

      At the end of the expedition, teams will develop practical solutions for the city: an "urban toolkit" and several pilot mini-projects, including project passports, roadmaps, basic estimates, and presentations for public defense. The "Discovering Russia Anew" program is implemented by the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the presidential platform "Russia - a Land of Opportunities," the Rosmolodezh project "More than a Journey," and the Russian Geographical Society. The hosting party for the expedition is the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Center for Strategic Sustainable Development of Territories."

      The expedition aligns with the goals of the national projects "Youth and Children" and "Infrastructure for Life," combining practical training, interregional youth exchange, and the development of applied solutions for the development of Russian cities.

      Students interested in issues related to urban environment development, architecture, urban studies, public space design, sociology, territorial development, and related fields are invited to participate.
