A criminal case has been initiated against a 35-year-old resident of Kazan following a fatal traffic accident that occurred in the Orenburg region. This was reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to police, the accident happened on July 19 on the Kazan — Orenburg — Akbulak highway in the Abdullin district. While driving a Suzuki, the woman began to overtake, entered the oncoming lane without ensuring the safety of the maneuver, and collided head-on with a Hyundai vehicle. As a result of the accident, a 64-year-old passenger of the Hyundai died. Additionally, six people in both vehicles sustained injuries of varying severity. All the injured were taken to the hospital. A criminal case has been opened against the driver of the Suzuki under part 3 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of a person through negligence.
