The Central Bank of Russia has put into circulation a commemorative coin to celebrate the four-hundredth anniversary of Naberezhnye Chelny, featuring a KAMAZ truck and the city’s coat of arms.
The Bank of Russia has issued a commemorative silver coin dedicated to the significant date – the four-hundredth anniversary of the founding of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny. As reported by the regulator's press service, the coin with a denomination of three rubles is part of the "Cities" series, and its mintage will be limited to a total of three thousand copies. The reverse side of the coin features relief images of the official coat of arms of the city, the city hall building, and a modern business center, as well as a KAMAZ truck against the backdrop of a panoramic cityscape, created using laser matting technique. The image is complemented by the inscriptions "Naberezhnye Chelny" and the anniversary date "400 years." The Central Bank particularly emphasized that Naberezhnye Chelny is rightly considered the heart of Tatarstan's industry, and the history of the automotive giant KAMAZ is inextricably linked to this city, from which the first truck rolled off the assembly line exactly fifty years ago. The obverse side traditionally features the state emblem of Russia and standard designations. It is worth noting that earlier, coins related to Tatarstan were issued by the Central Bank in 2022. The steel 10-ruble coin "Kazan" was issued as part of the "Cities of Labor Valor" series, and in 2020, the Bank of Russia issued commemorative coins for the 100th anniversary of the TASSR with a denomination of 3 rubles. Recently, it was reported that employers in Kazan have become more lenient regarding threats of dismissal. According to the results of a conducted study, only five percent of companies in Kazan dismiss employees for threatening to leave, and overall, employers have become more lenient and are more often willing to compromise.
