Nizhnekamsk has knitted more than 50 Cheburashka mascots for the fighters of the Special Military Operation in three months.

A resident of Nizhnekamsk, Alsu Mingazova, has knitted more than 50 Cheburashka mascots for participants of the special military operation over the course of three months. She handed over the latest batch of toys to the city humanitarian aid collection point at 72b Khimikov Street, from where they will be sent to the front lines. According to the volunteer, there is a high demand for such talismans from military personnel today. Some of the previously sent Cheburashkas are already with the soldiers. "It's even enjoyable. You can knit one Cheburashka in two or three evenings," Alsu Mingazova said. She noted that the talismans are more convenient to use in keychain format: they can be attached to a backpack or equipment elements. Volunteers make Cheburashkas with the Russian tricolor, Z symbols, as well as with personal inscriptions and call signs of the military personnel. According to Mingazova, almost anyone who knows how to crochet can knit such a talisman. She is ready to share the knitting pattern with anyone interested. Along with the talismans, other necessary items continue to arrive at the humanitarian aid collection point. For instance, employees of kindergarten No. 60 handed over three camouflage nets, children's drawings, and 15,000 rubles collected during a charity event to the volunteers. "We held the event together with parents and staff to help acquire materials for weaving camouflage nets," representatives of the kindergarten said. As reported by Natalia Suvorova, chairwoman of the neighborhood councils No. 8 and No. 11, the "Talismans for Heroes" campaign started in Nizhnekamsk in the spring. During this time, thousands of toys have already been handed over to military personnel, but the need for them remains. "The guys are very pleased to receive such talismans. We pass them on to contractors and soldiers who come on leave. If anyone has the opportunity to knit such a talisman, we would appreciate any help," she noted. In addition to talismans, the collection of humanitarian aid for military personnel continues at the point. Volunteers are accepting medications, long-lasting food, personal hygiene products, power tools, and other necessary items.
