      Kazan ranked third among Russian cities for minimal travel time to work. On average, residents of the Tatarstan capital take 35 minutes to get to work. This is evidenced by the data from the international platform Numbeo's ranking. Experts analyzed the situation in 305 megacities worldwide, assessing the index of time that residents spend daily commuting to and from work. The lower the index, the faster residents complete their journey. Among Russian cities, the lowest index was recorded in Nizhny Novgorod – 27.1. Kaliningrad came in second (29.2), and Kazan was third (35.0). Following them are Yekaterinburg (39.3), Novosibirsk (40.5), Rostov-on-Don (42.0), St. Petersburg (49.1), Moscow (50.5), and Krasnodar (51.8), which became the leader among Russian cities in terms of index size. In the global ranking, Kazan is in 150th place. The lower a city's position on the list, the less time its residents spend commuting to work. A total of 305 cities were included in the study. The anti-ranking was topped by Lagos, Nigeria, with an index of 68.3. The top five also included San Jose (Costa Rica), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kolkata (India), and Colombo (Sri Lanka). The lowest index values were recorded in the Croatian cities of Rijeka and Split, the Austrian city of Villach, the Serbian city of Novi Sad, and the Dutch city of Groningen. The commuting time index reflects the assessment of residents' daily trips to and from work. It is composed of average travel time, satisfaction with trip duration, efficiency of the transport system, and the volume of carbon dioxide emissions.
