In 2026, reforestation in the republic was carried out on 1,727 hectares, with the majority of the work falling under a federal project. According to the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, trees were artificially planted on 1,200 hectares, another 525 hectares were restored naturally, and a combined method was used on 2 hectares. The main volume of planned activities has already been completed. By the end of the year, specialists are expected to conduct natural reforestation on the remaining 823 hectares. During the summer-autumn period, soil preparation and the preservation of young growth during logging will be carried out. As part of the national project "Environmental Well-Being," seed harvesting, care for forest seed objects, and the transition of young trees to valuable species are also underway. This helps conserve resources and maintain ecological balance in the region. The regional project "Forest Conservation" started in 2025. Its key goals are to fully replenish felled and dead plantings, increase forested land, and reduce fire areas compared to 2021.
