      The Soviet District Court of Kazan changed the measure of restraint for Farid Nurutdinov, the manager of the Moscow firm IP-Group, who is accused of commercial bribery of a subcontractor during the construction of a school. This was reported by a correspondent of "BUSINESS Online" from the courtroom. The investigation requested to extend Nurutdinov's measure of restraint in the form of detention until October 8, 2026. However, the defense insisted on softening the measure of restraint due to Nurutdinov's health condition. As a result, Judge Sergey Aptulin changed Nurutdinov's measure of restraint to house arrest.

      Recall that, according to the investigation and the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department (UBEP), one of the Kazan firms was performing construction and installation work under a contract with IP-Group. The amount of work was approximately 2 billion rubles. However, as the investigation believes, in February of this year, to sign the acts of completed work, Nurutdinov approached the founder of the subcontractor and demanded 40 million rubles. The subcontractor contacted the economic police, and on June 8 of this year, accompanied by employees of the Tatarstan UBEP, handed over the first cash tranche of 5 million rubles to Nurutdinov in his office in Kazan, after which Nurutdinov was detained and charged with commercial bribery (part 8 of article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

      Nurutdinov himself claimed in court that the case concerns money that the subcontractor owed to the contractor. According to him, IP-Group incurred significant expenses throughout the contract, which should have been borne by the contractor's firm. The amount of expenses was 40 million rubles. And it was precisely this amount, according to Nurutdinov, that he demanded.
