Metshin: "Every fifth graduate of Kazan is a medalist."

      4.7 thousand students in the 9th and 11th grades in Kazan graduated from schools with a medal for special achievements in learning. Thus, every fifth graduate is a medalist. This was reported at the business Monday meeting by the head of the education department, Irek Rizvanov. The meeting was chaired by the mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin. "Every fifth graduate of a Kazan school is a medalist. This is worth a lot," commented Metshin. He noted that any city is primarily about its people. "In 15-20 years, today's young men and women will determine the future of the city — their city, our republic, our country. And this future is not abstract. It is being laid down today in school. And the results we heard today give us hope for a bright future for our capital, republic, and country." Also, the results of the Unified State Exam (USE) in all subjects have improved in Kazan. The most noticeable growth is in literature. If last year the average results were at the level of 63.5 points, then in 2026 it is higher by 10.3 points. A significant increase is noted in chemistry, computer science, English, and advanced mathematics. The best results of 300 points were achieved by two graduates from Kazan — IT Lyceum student Laysan Shakirova and Kazan Suvorov Military School student Roman Sakharov. 200 points for two subjects were received by 26 graduates from the capital of Tatarstan. This year, there were also 240 students who scored a perfect 100.

      Let us remind you that last year in all of Tatarstan there were more perfect scores: 11 graduates received 200 points in two subjects, and 266 graduates received 100 points in one subject.
