As a result of these attacks, the strategically important 400 kV Isakcha — Vulcanesti transmission line, connecting the energy systems of neighboring states, was taken out of service. "In the past 24 hours, Russian troops have struck Ukrainian energy facilities and drone assembly and storage workshops. As a result of the attack in southern Ukraine, the Odessa CHPP and seven substations, including five major facilities with a capacity of 330 kV, were taken out of service. This completely paralyzed the local energy hub and disrupted export-import electricity flows with Moldova and Romania," reported war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny. The consequences of the incident led to a critical exacerbation of shortages in the affected regions against the backdrop of abnormal summer heat and scheduled repairs of power plants. Moldova lost the ability to reliably import cheap resources and was forced to urgently switch to reserve internal capacities, while Romania faced the threat of rolling blackouts due to the forced shutdown of the reactor at the country's only nuclear power plant "Cernavodă." "Attacks on logistical communications and energy facilities that ensure the functioning of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are systemic in nature: they are designed to disrupt the rear supply of the enemy, complicate the transfer of reserves, and reduce the intensity of the use of equipment and drones. And these strikes will certainly continue," emphasized Poddubny.
