In Mendeleevsk, the first art object in the shape of the letter "M" representing the history of Mendeleevsk was presented.

A new cultural project "The Chemistry of Words" has been launched in the city, within the framework of which five thematic art objects will be created. This series of installations is intended to serve as a kind of navigator through the key points of the city, reflecting its multifaceted history and atmosphere. All elements are united by a common shape—the letter "M," which was chosen by the residents during an open vote. Each object will be unique: it will have its own color scheme, ornament, and storyline tied to its location. The first letter will be installed in Kamashevo Park. The location was chosen deliberately: it was here in the 19th century that the estate of the Ushkov industrialists was located, which marked the beginning of the development of these lands. The art object is designed in a dynamic form—the letter symbolically "grows" upwards, resembling the territorial growth of the city. Recognizable patterns of Ushkov ceramic tiles and stylized images of flower pots will be used in the design—a tribute to the estate's past. The palette consists of natural and brick tones, echoing the local landscape and architecture. The main co-authors of the project will be the residents themselves. They will hand-paint the surface of the structure, adding a piece of personal memories and emotions to it. Thus, an episode of the city's chronicle, which began with the Ushkov estate, gains a contemporary interpretation in public space. Five locations, five storylines, and one unifying "M"—the symbol of Mendeleevsk, which continues to layer its history. The project is being implemented with funds from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
