Scientists Ildar Begishev and Denis Kiyko from KFU published an article in the prestigious international journal BRICS Law Journal.

The Chief Researcher of the Research Institute of Digital Technologies and Law, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure at Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Military Sciences of the Russian Federation, Honored Lawyer of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Begishev, as well as a graduate student of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure at Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov Denis Kiiko, published a scientific article titled “Harmonization of Robotics Legislation as a Factor in Technological Cooperation between BRICS Countries” in the prestigious international scientific publication BRICS Law Journal. The full text of the article is available at the link: https://www.bricslawjournal.com/jour/article/view/1571/349 BRICS Law Journal is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that is among the leading platforms for publishing research in the field of law of BRICS countries and is recognized in the international scientific citation database Scopus (Q2). Publication in this journal confirms the high level of scientific expertise of the authors and the demand for their research on the international stage. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the processes of harmonizing legal norms in the field of robotics, considered as a key factor in strengthening technological cooperation between BRICS countries. Based on a comparative legal study of national legislations, the authors identified significant differences in approaches to regulating robotic systems and artificial intelligence, caused by the countries' affiliation to different legal traditions and uneven levels of technological development. Special attention in the work is given to justifying the need to form a unified methodological basis for the legal regulation of robotics in the BRICS format. The authors propose specific institutional mechanisms for harmonization, including the development of model legislation, the creation of specialized coordination structures – such as a working group on robotics and artificial intelligence, an expert council, and a competence center – as well as the implementation of unified technical standards. The researchers convincingly argue that the convergence of legal systems in the field of robotics contributes to the formation of a unified technological space, facilitates technology transfer, and enhances the competitiveness of BRICS countries in the global market for innovative solutions. A separate section of the article is devoted to the ethical aspects of regulating robotics in the context of the cultural diversity of the member countries, which gives the research not only legal but also socio-humanitarian significance. The publication of this article in such a prestigious journal indicates the recognition of the scientific school of Kazan Innovative University in the field of digital law and the legal regulation of new technologies at the international level. The university team congratulates Ildar Begishev and Denis Kiiko on this significant achievement and wishes them further success in their research activities.
