      Representatives of organizations trading in motor vehicles note a significant decrease in the sales of pit bikes compared to last year. This was stated today at a press conference by the acting head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan, Ayrat Samigullin. "The legal awareness of parents is growing," explains Samigullin. They are increasingly buying pit bikes for their underage children less often; however, according to him, there is still a "bacchanalia" happening in suburban areas that needs to be addressed. Colonel Samigullin also noted that on Thursday, a special meeting was held at the traffic police with representatives of the motorcycling community, where issues of prevention and suppression of traffic accidents involving motorcyclists and pit bike riders were discussed. Samigullin stated that the meeting decided to open safe driving training for motor vehicles and pit bikes for children and teenagers on a free basis. Such points include "Motoschool VKE," "Motoschool Safarmotors," and "Drive Park" in the Zelenodolsk district. According to operational data, accident rates involving child drivers are also decreasing: 13 traffic accidents have been registered this season, with 1 child killed and 12 injured. In comparison, last year there were 25 such accidents with 25 injured. Recently, criminal cases were sent to court in Tatarstan against two local residents under part 1 of article 151.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Involvement of a minor in actions that pose a danger to the life of the minor"). They are accused of purchasing a motorcycle and a moped for their underage sons without legal grounds.
