In 2026 the cost of travel on Kazan's public transport will increase to 46 rubles for a single trip and to 36 rubles when paying with a 100-ride pass.

From the new year Kazan residents will face higher public transport fares. According to a published resolution of the State Committee for Tariffs of the Republic of Tatarstan, from January 1, 2026 the cost of a single trip on buses, trams and trolleybuses will be 46 rubles. When paying with a 100-ride pass the price per trip will be reduced to 36 rubles. Currently a single ride on Kazan city transport costs passengers 43 rubles. The increase from the new year will be 3 rubles. The metro will see a similar increase — a trip on the subway will also cost 46 rubles, as set by the corresponding decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan.

Note that the State Committee for Tariffs had previously approved the maximum ceiling fares for public transport for the coming year. This planned increase is part of the overall tariff policy, taking into account inflationary processes and carriers' costs.

It was previously reported that from the new year residents of Tatarstan who use discounted travel documents will face another fare increase. From January 1, 2026 the cost of social travel passes in the republic will rise.

The unified monthly travel pass will see the largest increase — its price will go up by 26 rubles to reach 656 rubles. The children's social travel pass will also rise in price: from the current 384 to 400 rubles, an increase of 16 rubles.
