       The Central Election Commission of Tatarstan reported the receipt of the necessary packages of documents for the nomination of candidates for the elections of the head of the republic from all four contenders.

       This information was announced at today's meeting of the State Council Committee of Tatarstan on state construction and local self-government. As noted by the Deputy Chairman of the Republic's Central Election Commission, Andrey Nefedov, the right to nominate candidates for the position of head of the republic is exclusively held by political parties; self-nominated candidates cannot participate in the elections. "The nomination period for candidates runs from June 12 to July 11," he reminded. To date, four parties have nominated their candidates to participate in the elections for the head of the republic. Rustam Minnikhanov has been nominated by "United Russia," Ruslan Yusupov represents the LDPR, and Hafiza Mirgalimova has been nominated by the CPRF. Vitaly Smirnov was chosen as the candidate by the "Russian Party of Pensioners for Social Justice." Andrey Nefedov reminded that on the Unified Voting Day, September 14, three electoral campaigns are planned in Tatarstan: residents of the republic will have to elect the head, deputies of representative bodies of local self-government, as well as a deputy of the State Council for the Meleksky district No. 18. "We will hold direct elections for the head of the republic for the sixth time," Nefedov said, emphasizing that they can be called the most important electoral campaign of the current year in Tatarstan. Additionally, residents of the republic will be able to vote at any polling station during the elections. To do this, it is necessary to submit a corresponding application in advance. This can be done in various ways – at territorial election commissions, MFCs, or through the government services portal.
