      In Mendeleevsk, large-scale restoration work on the unique cultural heritage site - the Factory Office of the "P. K. Ushkov and Co." partnership - is nearing completion. The building, constructed in 1870 and styled like a medieval castle with a 15-meter tower, was severely damaged in a fire in 1991 and had been in an emergency state for decades.

      Currently, the historical facades and roof have been restored, and interior finishing work and installation of engineering systems are underway. The key task is to recreate the fire-damaged tower and historical stucco in the fireplace hall.

      This place has immense historical value. Notable figures such as the founder of the factory, Pyotr Ushkov, chemists Lev Karpov and Boris Zbarsky, poet Boris Pasternak, and Dmitry Mendeleev, who visited the factory in 1893 and gave the city its name, have been here. The project funding of 187.2 million rubles is provided by the budget of Tatarstan and the strategic partner JSC "Ammonium." After the restoration is completed, the building, which will be returned to its historical name "Ushkov Office," will house a modern interactive local history museum.
