According to him, international federations are beginning to follow the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee. The deputy expressed hope that over time such decisions would also extend to the main adult teams. He also stated that, in his opinion, Russian athletes should be fully returned to international competitions, despite the sharp reactions from some European countries. In December 2025, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee recommended that international sports federations allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in youth disciplines using their flag and anthem. This recommendation applies to both individual and team sports. Russian national teams and clubs have not participated in international competitions since 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
