In Nurlat, the implementation of programs for the preservation of the Tatar and Chuvash languages was discussed.
In the Nurlat district, a working meeting was held on the issues of preserving and developing native languages, led by the acting Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Marat Akhmetov.
The discussion, under the guidance of the head of the district, Damir Ishkineeva, involved leaders of educational institutions, representatives of the organizing committee, and responsible persons in the field of culture. The main goal of the meeting was to analyze the work on teaching and upbringing in the Tatar and Chuvash languages within the framework of the implementation of specialized state programs. Before the meeting began, Marat Akhmetov visited several educational facilities to personally assess the conditions created for children. Summarizing the inspection, he emphasized that the key factor for success is the professionalism and involvement of teaching staff. Marat Gotovich noted that systematic work is being carried out in the district to preserve national traditions, and the teachers' proficiency in two languages is a significant advantage. He particularly highlighted the role of the family, kindergarten, school, and the overall environment in shaping language identity.
The head of the education department, Alsu Rakhmatullina, spoke about the development of the educational network. She noted that groups educating in the Chuvash language are already successfully functioning in Nurlat kindergartens. Based on this positive experience and the requests of local residents, it is planned to open a class with Chuvash language instruction at school No. 9 this year.
Nurlat residents also shared their successes in cultural and educational activities. The district cherishes the memory of its fellow countryman – the founder of Tatar theater, Gabdulla Kariev: every year on his birthday, celebrations are held at the monument, gathering guests from neighboring regions. Additionally, in 2024, an award named after the poet Gakil Sagirov was established to encourage outstanding Nurlat residents for their achievements in creativity and literature.
Summarizing the meeting, Marat Akhmetov positively assessed the constructive work of municipal authorities and the teaching community. He emphasized that the issues of preserving native languages and strengthening interethnic unity remain a priority.
