Metshin awarded the winners of the "Big Change" competition.
In Kazan, the results of the city festival "Big Change" were announced. The city's mayor, Ilsur Metshin, awarded the winners of the competition with cash certificates. Schools that took the top spots received 1 million rubles each. This was reported by the city administration. "Over 18 years, 150,000 children have taken the stage at the festival. During this time, 'Big Change' has gained the status of a whole movement. We derive immense pleasure from the fact that we have such talented children," noted the mayor. The final gala concert took place at the KRK "Pyramid," where the best performances of the festival were showcased. This year, more than 6,000 schoolchildren, teachers, and parents participated. The main prize in the small group went to Gymnasium No. 3 with the Tatar language of instruction. In the large group, the winner was Gymnasium No. 175. Second and third places were also awarded to lyceums and gymnasiums from different districts of the city. The jury specifically highlighted performances dedicated to the cultural heritage of Kazan, family values, and historical memory—these themes became key in 2026. The festival was held under the slogan "We are children of Kazan, we are children of a great country" and was timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and the Year of Military and Labor Valor in Tatarstan. The city stage of the festival concluded back in mid-March, with 24 schools from all districts of Kazan participating. The competition took place in three stages—from intra-school to city-wide. The organizers were the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs and the Education Department of Kazan.
