The lines of Tukay resonate in all languages: foreign students of KGASU celebrated the 140th anniversary of the great poet.

In honor of the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, a festive event was held at KGAASU, which became a vivid example of intercultural dialogue. Students from different countries gathered together to pay tribute to the poet's legacy, whose work transcends the boundaries of a single culture, with his works translated into almost 40 languages of the world. His poems have become a symbol of wisdom, love for the homeland, and universal human values.

International students from the preparatory Russian language program, for whom the Republic of Tatarstan and its culture have become part of their educational journey, prepared a special program, proving that Tukay's art knows no borders. The international student literary festival opened with readings of the poet's poems "Native Village" and "Native Language" in various languages — Tatar, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, English, French, and even Spanish. The students not only translated the lines but also shared their emotions: "When I first read 'Native Language,' I felt the same pride as for my native Arabic," confessed Abdellah from Morocco.

Russian students from group 25PG06 of the KGAASU Institute of Construction took on the role of cultural ambassadors and guides into the world of Tukay's creativity. They prepared and presented informative presentations in Russian about Tukay's life and his iconic works, which have become gems not only of Tatar but also of world literature. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the famous poem-tales "Shurale" and "Su Anasy."

The meeting concluded with an engaging quiz dedicated to Tukay's life and work. International students were able to shine with their knowledge gained during the presentations and show how attentively they listened to the speakers. It was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce the knowledge acquired in an interactive format. The meeting became a vivid example of how studying the Russian language can be combined with a deep immersion in cultural heritage. Quiz winners and students with presentations received encouraging prizes.

Such events are extremely important. They not only preserve and popularize cultural heritage among youth but also fulfill an important educational and unifying function. Through Tukay's poetry, international students were able to better understand the culture of Tatarstan and Russia. The event became a true bridge of friendship and mutual understanding between different cultures united by a love for the word and the creativity of the great poet.

The event was organized as part of the KGAASU conversation club "Let's Speak Russian" and the social and cultural adaptation program for international students, made possible by the organizational support of the KGAASU International Relations Department. We express special gratitude to the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages at KGAASU, L.A. Nigmatullina, for the comprehensive preparation of students for the event.
