      The organizers of the annual Kazan Marathon announced the expansion of the social mission of the sporting event. The May run in Kazan will not only unite lovers of an active lifestyle but will also become a key platform for promoting anti-terrorist narratives and fostering a culture of safety among the youth of Tatarstan, according to the report. The apparatus of the anti-terrorist commission in Tatarstan emphasized a systematic approach to the educational work with the younger generation. By integrating anti-terrorist themes into sporting events, unique conditions are created for instilling a rejection of any forms of destructive behavior among the youth, the agency noted. "Sport is strength, discipline, and unity. The integration of educational content into an event of such scale as the Kazan Marathon allows us to reach the widest audience. Such initiatives strengthen public consciousness and create a solid culture of safety among the youth audience," said Ildus Garaev, head of the apparatus of the anti-terrorist commission in Tatarstan, who also traditionally participates in the run. According to the organizers, the Kazan Marathon 2026 is turning into an effective arena for broadcasting socially significant meanings, traditionally uniting thousands of athletes and fans. This year, a specialized thematic interactive zone of the Academy of Creative Youth of Tatarstan will continue to operate at the venue, where youth assistants to the head of the apparatus of the anti-terrorist commission in Tatarstan will tell and show guests and participants practical examples of modern methods to counter destructive ideologies, methods of preventing youth involvement and recruitment into illegal activities, as well as personal safety compliance. "This year, our brochures on the latest types of fraud and how to avoid becoming an accomplice are included in the starter packs for the 3 and 10 km runs. The brochure is called 'Finish Without Losses,' which we developed specifically for the marathon. More than 20,000 copies have been prepared," said Elizaveta Gonzova, public assistant to the head of the apparatus of the anti-terrorist commission in Tatarstan, head of the republican youth program "We Are the World." During the marathon, the media facade on Dekabristov Street (the "Tatmedia" building) will become the main screen for video accompaniment of the preventive agenda, broadcasting the anti-terrorist video "We Are Against Terrorism." The main message is to instill a strong negative attitude towards the ideology of terrorism and extremism among the younger generation.

      The run will take place from May 1 to 3, 2026. The route and program are available on the organizers' website. The location will be situated in the fan zone, with free entry for participants and guests of the marathon.
