"I made my choice of profession consciously. I have always liked people in white coats, bringing goodness and help. Since childhood, I knew that I would be a medical worker and wanted to connect my future with medicine. I chose the profession of a nurse to really help people, to be there in difficult times, and to provide not only qualified assistance but also human support. And I have never regretted my choice," shares Galina Valentinovna. Over 40 years of work, Galina Valentinovna often recalls the grateful looks of patients and the sincere words of their families, which remain the most valuable in her profession. "The work of a nurse has changed significantly in recent years: technological progress has simplified many technical aspects, but at the same time, the workload and documentation requirements have increased. The rapid change of technologies, protocols, and the emergence of new equipment require constant continuous professional development. Modern consumables, equipment, technical facilities, access to information, and automation of some tasks make physical care for patients less labor-intensive but require new knowledge and skills," she emphasizes. In her opinion, a true professional in nursing combines deep medical knowledge, technical skills, and high moral and ethical qualities. A good nurse can only be someone who loves their job and pays close attention to patients. "The nursing profession is about achieving set goals and tasks, constant self-improvement, and self-education. This is my life! I know what I will do today, and I know what I will do tomorrow. When I came to work in the hospital, I immersed myself in this process completely. And I was not disappointed at all: I eagerly acquire new knowledge every day. It has become clear to me that this is the work of my life. I enjoy communicating with people - colleagues, patients. Yes, there are difficulties, and I encounter complex, conflict situations. But it is like another challenge when you need to find the 'key' to a person. Fortunately, in most cases, I manage to find the right words. The more I work, the more I like my profession," our interlocutor shares. Galina Valentinovna notes that high-quality medical care is impossible without a strong, reliable team. "The main qualities of a nurse are compassion, patience, responsibility, and discipline. It is important not only to correctly administer an injection or a dressing but also to find a kind word for the patient, to calm them down, and to give them hope for recovery. The nurse is a bridge between the doctor and the patient; it depends on her how confident and comfortable a person feels during treatment," adds Galina Valentinovna. This profession requires constant learning and self-improvement, as medicine does not stand still, and a true professional always strives to be close to the patient and help them as effectively as possible.
