       The abnormally hot weather that has settled in the Republic of Tatarstan, exceeding the long-term climate averages by 8-9 degrees, will last only until the end of today, after which the region will be under the influence of sharply continental cooling.

       As reported by RBC, the Hydrometeorological Center of the Republic of Tatarstan stated that during the daytime on May 8, the air in the region warmed up to plus 30 degrees Celsius, however, an active cold atmospheric front is currently passing through the territory of the republic, bringing with it dangerous meteorological phenomena. Due to its passage, short but intense rains, thunderstorms, and an increase in wind speed are expected in some areas of Tatarstan, with gusts reaching 15-20 meters per second; locally, meteorologists do not rule out the possibility of hail. On the night of May 9, there will also be a chance of short thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusty winds in some areas of the republic. However, on Victory Day, Tatarstan will find itself in the rear of a cold ridge dominated by northwestern air flows, which will bring significant cooling and a decrease in temperature background, while precipitation, according to meteorologists' calculations, will be unlikely. At night, thermometers will drop to plus 6-11 degrees, and during the day on May 9, the air will warm up only to plus 11-16 degrees, which is significantly lower than yesterday's figures. Subsequently, on May 10 and 11, the weather in the region will begin to be determined by a cold northern anticyclone, under the influence of which precipitation will cease, but the temperature regime will become distinctly October-like: at night, cooling is expected to 0-5 degrees Celsius, and in some areas, dangerous frosts of intensity up to minus 1-3 degrees are forecasted at the surface of the soil and in the near-surface layer of air.
