The authorities of Kazan and Almetyevsk announced on Thursday the introduction of temporary restrictions on the movement of electric scooters during the festive events dedicated to the eighty-first anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
As reported by the publication "Business Online" citing the press service of the mayor's office of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, in Kazan on Victory Day, a complete ban on the movement of personal mobility devices will be in effect in all key locations of mass gatherings. In particular, the restrictions will affect Victory Park, Millennium Square, where a parade and concert will take place, the area adjacent to the "Kazan" family center, as well as the entire route along which the column of the patriotic event "Immortal Regiment" will proceed. In Almetyevsk, the restrictive measures are even stricter: the city administration reported that in the areas of mass festivities, bike-sharing services will be forced to completely disable the technical ability to park and end the rental of electric scooters. Moreover, in the perimeters cordoned off by law enforcement officers to ensure the safety of citizens, the movement will be categorically prohibited not only on rented but also on personal electric scooters, as well as bicycles. All these restrictions will be in effect throughout the festive day and will be lifted immediately after the completion of all planned ceremonial events. At the same time, large-scale restrictions will also be introduced for motor vehicles in the cities of Tatarstan: in Kazan, from 6 PM on May 8 to 10 AM on May 10, traffic will be completely closed on Millennium Square, and access will be restricted on Bondarenko Street and, in case of a large gathering of spectators after the fireworks, on Sibgat Hakim Street. In Nizhnekamsk, on May 9, from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, roads from Sportivnaya Street to 50 Years of October Street will be closed. It was previously reported that the parade in Kazan on Victory Day will take place without military equipment.
