The Cyril and Methodius Youth Scientific Readings took place in Kazan.

      On May 14, the XXIII Republican Cyril and Methodius Youth Scientific Readings took place at Gymnasium No. 93 in the Soviet District of Kazan, dedicated to the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilsur Khadiullin, participated in the event. This year, the readings gathered 600 participants — students from grades 4 to 11 and teachers from 31 municipal districts of Tatarstan, as well as from Kazan and St. Petersburg. 280 people were invited to the in-person stage, along with creative teams and sports teams that showcased their skills in the new section "Ethnosport." The main goal of the readings is to develop youth interest in spiritual values, traditions of Russian culture, and language. Participants presented their research works in various fields, including linguistics, Russian literature, local history, the history of the Great Patriotic War, and ethnosport. The readings are held as part of the State Program "Implementation of State National Policy in the Republic of Tatarstan" and are supported by partners such as Kazan Federal University, Kazan State Institute of Culture, the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the A.S. Pushkin Cultural Center. In 2026, the Cyril and Methodius Youth Scientific Readings will be dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the Year of Military and Labor Valor in the Republic of Tatarstan, and the anniversary dates of the birth of Russian writers, artists, composers, commanders, historians, scientists, and public figures.
