      In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Dear brothers and sisters, residents of Tatarstan! Dear compatriots! Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. Every year on May 21, Tatarstan celebrates an important date in the history of the Tatar people – the day of the official acceptance of Islam in Volga Bulgaria. In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, this day takes on special significance. Imam Malik said: "The community will only be corrected by that which corrected its first generations (i.e., the Quran and Sunnah)." In other words, Islam has ennobled the peoples who accepted it, and only faith in Allah can guide their descendants onto the true path. Our ancestors, the ancient Bulgars, after accepting Islam, experienced an extraordinarily high flourishing of culture: in art, science, literature, architecture, education, and more. Therefore, the future of the Tatar people, as their heirs, lies in religious service. The Quran is the spiritual foundation of the Tatar nation, faith is our eternal companion and beacon.

      Islam has given our people the very best; our highest achievements in history are connected with the service of the Quran. The hallmark of Tatar culture is the publication of the "Kazan Basmasy" – no other Tatar book has been distributed as widely around the world as the Kazan edition of the Quran. The most famous Tatar scholars, whose works are still studied and taught in universities in various countries, are Islamic theologians. Even in modern life, Islam plays a decisive role in Tatarstan's implementation of our country's international policy. The Republic is developing today as a Muslim center and is known as one of the leaders in Islamic theology, halal industry, and Islamic finance.

      Dear compatriots! It is reported in a hadith that the Prophet ﷺ in his farewell sermon said: "I have left you the Book of Allah. If you hold fast to it, you will not go astray after me." Allah has bestowed upon the Tatar people the highest mercy and blessing – to be believing Muslims, to be part of the ummah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. At the same time, this is our salvation in both worlds for us and our descendants. I sincerely ask the Almighty to strengthen the Tatar people on the path of Truth and grant us believing and moral Muslim descendants.
