In total, the man from Kazan cycled over 4,000 kilometers, and his 38-day route passed through the territories of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
A resident of Kazan named Mikhail undertook an impressive solo cycling journey, quickly covering the distance from the capital of Tatarstan to the border with the People's Republic of China. According to the Telegram channel Mash Iptash, the man started from Kazan in early April 2026 and initially planned to take two to three months to complete the entire route, but the actual pace of travel exceeded all expectations. Throughout the journey, the traveler spent the nights wherever night found him: in his own lightweight tent set up right in the steppe, in roadside hotels, or stopping at the homes of his blog followers who invited him to stay overnight upon learning about his cycling trip. Ultimately, the Russian cycled across all of Russia, crossed the territory of Kazakhstan, endured the heat of Uzbekistan, pedaling for four thousand two hundred kilometers, and reached the final destination of his journey in a record thirty-eight days. Mikhail himself shared that the long road, besides asphalt, gifted him many bright and unexpected encounters with fellow adventurers. In particular, along the way, he met and got to know another extreme traveler from Europe – an Englishman who does not use any form of transport and was simultaneously walking to India, which once again proves that for true travelers, borders remain merely a formality. It was previously reported that by the end of the week, temperatures in Tatarstan would rise to +29 degrees. According to meteorologists' forecasts, comfortable and summery warm weather is returning to the republic, but they warn of ongoing extreme fire hazards.
