A pensioner from the Tukaevsky district, having fallen victim to a phone scam, lost her savings. The total damage amounted to over 5.3 million rubles. Part of the amount was tracked – the district prosecutor filed a lawsuit to recover the funds. The criminals called the woman in August 2025. Unidentified individuals, using a social engineering scheme, deceived the victim into transferring her savings to a so-called "safe account." During the investigation, it was established that part of the stolen funds (335,000 rubles) was transferred to a bank account of a third party (a dropper). After the funds were credited, they were neither withdrawn nor transferred, and the whereabouts of the 28-year-old account holder could not be determined. The district prosecutor defended the rights of the pensioner and filed a lawsuit to recover unjust enrichment in the amount of 335,000 rubles. The lawsuit is currently under consideration in court, the supervisory authority reported. The Tukaevsky district prosecutor urges citizens not to disclose personal data, bank card details, and transaction confirmation codes to strangers. In case of suspicion of fraud, they should immediately contact the police.
