Yakutia has ordered three Tu-214 aircraft from the Kazan Aircraft Plant.

      Yakutia is interested in the supply of three Tu-214 aircraft, which are produced by the Kazan Aviation Plant named after Gorbunov. The corresponding agreement was signed by the head of the United Aircraft Corporation Vadim Badeha and the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. As reported by the press service of the UAC, the government of Yakutia also expressed interest in acquiring five SJ-100 aircraft. Deliveries are planned for 2027-2028. Badeha noted that improving transport accessibility in the regions is a priority task. The new domestic aircraft will help maintain and increase passenger traffic on local and interregional air routes in the Far East. Nikolaev stated that for Yakutia, with its vast territories and harsh climate, aviation is vital. The replenishment of the aircraft fleet with Tu-214 and SJ-100 liners will improve transport accessibility. This is an important step for the socio-economic development of the region and for improving the quality of life for the Yakuts. The Kazan Aviation Plant has been producing medium-haul narrow-body passenger aircraft Tu-214 since 1996. In December 2024, the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov reported that the republic plans to produce at least 20 such aircraft annually. Later, Rostec shifted the timeline for expanding production to 20 aircraft per year to 2028-2029. At the end of 2025, the first flight was made by a new Tu-214 from domestic components.
