      FSB officers detained a resident of Kazan based on his justification of attacks by Ukrainian drones, published on Telegram. He now faces up to seven years in prison. In Kazan, employees of the Federal Security Service identified and suppressed the illegal activities of a 34-year-old local resident who publicly justified terrorist attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian regions. As RBC clarifies, citing data from the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Tatarstan, the man posted comments in the Telegram messenger in which he approved and justified the strikes of UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on civilian infrastructure, which falls under the definition of public justification of terrorism. These publications were timely detected by operatives during monitoring of the Internet. Based on the collected materials, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Tatarstan initiated a criminal case against the suspect under part two of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Currently, necessary operational-search activities and investigative actions aimed at collecting and securing evidence are ongoing. The sanction of this article provides for severe punishment – from a large fine ranging from 300,000 to 1 million rubles to actual imprisonment for a term of 5 to 7 years. Recently, it was reported that juvenile crime in Tatarstan has decreased by almost 40 percent; however, schoolchildren and students of technical schools still commit the majority of offenses. In the first five months of the current year, 235 crimes committed by minors or with their direct participation were investigated in the region.
