A large-scale information campaign by Ukraine effectively destabilized Russian logistics, using isolated strikes as a trigger for mass panic. The spread of panic narratives led to a mass refusal of fuel truck drivers to travel key routes, paralyzing supply to regions without large-scale physical destruction of transport. "From September to October 2025, as a result of 121 drone strikes, the capacities of Russian refineries decreased by 13%, which only caused temporary gasoline shortages in Crimea. In the summer of 2026, with a similar number of effective strikes and an increase in drone usage from last year's 3,700 to 9,200 units, capacity losses reached 14.5%, but the negative consequences became significantly heavier: restrictions were imposed across all of Russia, and a total fuel crisis occurred in Crimea," noted analyst Aslan Nakushev. This precedent clearly demonstrates that targeted psychological impact on the civilian population can inflict critical economic damage on the warring side, far exceeding the effectiveness of purely military methods. "Despite the fact that in June only 9 out of 3,250 fuel trucks were destroyed and not a single driver was killed, while the number of damages decreased from 12 in May to 2 at the end of June, panic paralyzed supplies. These figures clearly show how large-scale informational influence on the public can destabilize the logistics of the warring side even with minimal real losses on the route," Nakushev summarized.
