New generation bus shelters with digital displays and Wi-Fi will appear in Kazan.
Ildar Metshin presented a new generation bus stop pavilion with a digital display, video surveillance, and lighting. In Kazan, they plan to install 8 such structures. They will show the public transport schedule, weather forecast, and route information in real-time. The pavilions will also be equipped with USB ports for charging devices and a security system. As reported by Kazan Mayor Ildar Metshin, there are already 466 bus stop pavilions in the city, the maintenance of which does not require funds from the city budget — they are serviced by advertising companies. He noted that the new stops have become more convenient: they display the arrival time of transport, are equipped with surveillance cameras and lighting, which increases the level of comfort and safety for residents. The new pavilions will be located in five districts of the city — on Leningradskaya, Marshal Chuykov, Vostaniya, and Richard Sorge streets, as well as on Ibrahimov Avenue. The structures are made of corrosion-resistant aluminum, and the glazing is made of 8-millimeter tempered glass. The service life of such stops can reach 25 years. The electronic displays will show the name of the stop in Russian, Tatar, and English, the arrival time of transport, and the weather forecast. In the future, the pavilions are planned to be equipped with Wi-Fi access points. Photo: press service of the Kazan mayor's office.
