      A working meeting between Alexander Kurenkov and Badra Gunba took place in the Administration of the Republic on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the EMERCOM of the Republic of Abkhazia. The cooperation of the rescue services of the two states has been ongoing since the first days of the establishment of the EMERCOM of Abkhazia. This interaction received a special impetus in 2010 after the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of emergencies. "The presence of a common border, close economic ties, and strong friendly relations between our peoples require coordinated actions aimed at reducing the risks of emergencies and timely elimination of their consequences. This is particularly relevant in the context of the complex mountainous terrain of Abkhazia and the Russian border area, as well as the climatic features of the Black Sea coast," said Alexander Kurenkov. In particular, he noted that the established information interaction between the rescue agencies of the two states allows for joint planning of preventive measures to minimize the scale of possible emergencies, as well as to respond promptly to incidents of a natural and man-made nature. An important aspect of the joint work, Alexander Kurenkov emphasized, is ensuring the necessary level of equipment for responding units with modern technical means. A number of measures to provide technical assistance to the rescue agency of Abkhazia have already been implemented, and new ones are being developed. "The Russian Federation is grateful for the assistance provided to Russian citizens on the territory of Abkhazia and highly values the support you provide to the population of the regions of Russia affected by shelling and terrorist acts from Ukraine," emphasized the head of the Russian agency. He confirmed the readiness of the EMERCOM of Russia to assist the people of Abkhazia in the event of natural disasters and man-made catastrophes. The head of the Russian agency conveyed congratulations to his Abkhaz colleagues on the 20th anniversary of the EMERCOM of the Republic of Abkhazia and to the residents of the capital of the republic on the occasion of City Day.
