Employees of the Zainsk Central District Hospital participated in a seminar on the prevention of hepatitis and summer infections.
On July 30, 2026, healthcare workers from the prevention office of the Zainsk Central District Hospital participated in a methodological online seminar dedicated to current issues of infectious safety. As part of the Liver Disease Prevention Week, timed to coincide with the International Day Against Hepatitis (July 28), infectious disease doctor Ch.Sh. Gabdrakhmanova from the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital presented a report on viral hepatitis. Listeners were reminded that approximately 354 million people worldwide live with chronic hepatitis B or C, and 1.3 million die from these diseases each year. Special emphasis was placed on the role of primary care physicians: they are often the first to suspect the disease based on nonspecific symptoms—weakness, dyspepsia, heaviness in the right upper quadrant—and refer the patient for examination. Vaccination against hepatitis B remains a priority: it is effective in more than 95% of cases and is included in the national vaccination calendar. The second part of the seminar was dedicated to seasonal risks. PhD in Medicine G.S. Shaikhieva discussed the factors of summer infections: temperature, water, food, and natural focal. Among intestinal infections, rotavirus, norovirus, and enteroviruses lead, while among transmissible diseases—tick-borne encephalitis, Lyme disease, and West Nile fever. Physicians were reminded of the algorithms for nonspecific prevention: handwashing, boiled or bottled water, thermal processing of food, use of repellents and protective clothing, as well as timely vaccination before traveling to endemic regions. Additionally, at 3:00 PM, there was a webinar on healthy eating for healthcare workers as part of the corporate program "Strengthening the Health of Medical Institution Workers." Speakers emphasized that unbalanced nutrition is one of the key risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases. The seminar materials are recommended for use in preventive work and for the professional development of specialists.
