The All-Russian mentoring project "School of Interethnic Journalism" is opening applications.
Regional stage: participants will master the fundamental principles of ethnic journalism as a professional field, study the basics of the State National Policy of Russia, the structure of federal and local media, and learn to create materials on topics of interethnic interaction in various genres—from reports to long reads. Finalists will be welcomed with a series of master classes from leading industry experts, participation in an ethnographic expedition to collect field materials, a team hackathon for creating media projects, and work in creative laboratories under the guidance of curators. Classes of the first stage will be held in a mixed format with the option to choose between in-person attendance and remote connection. In the upcoming year, the project's network will cover at least 14 subjects of the Russian Federation. Training is fully funded by the organizers; however, access to the program is granted only after passing a competitive selection.
Citizens of the Russian Federation aged 18 to 30 from any region of the country are eligible to apply. If a local branch of the School operates in the candidate's settlement, they attend classes in person; in the absence of a branch, training is conducted remotely. The organizer of the 2026 course, alongside the Guild, is the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs.
