The founder of the Kazan Circus School, Igumnov, is leaving his position as its head.

      After 30 years of leading the Children's Circus School of the Kazan Circus, its founder and permanent director Ildar Igumnov is leaving his position. This was announced to the audience today at the anniversary show "Up." The new head of the school is Svetlana Sharapova, a distinguished figure in the arts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Ildar Vladimirovich Igumnov is a distinguished figure in the arts of RT and a distinguished worker of culture of RT. He established the Kazan Circus School in 1996 by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan. Over three decades under his leadership, the school has become a unique educational institution with pre-professional training, where about 150 children aged six to 14 are taught free of charge every year. Graduates of the school work in the best circuses in Russia and around the world, and students have repeatedly become prize winners at international circus festivals, including in Monte Carlo. Svetlana Ildarovna Sharapova is a distinguished worker of the arts of RT and has been working with children for 38 years. She was a choreographer for 20 years and has been teaching at the Kazan State Circus School for 18 years. Among other things, she is a mentor for the "notCircus" project in gymnastics and acrobatics. At the solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the school, the Minister of Culture of RT Irada Ayupova noted Igumnov's contributions: "This is a person without whom this school would not have existed. He dedicated his whole life, his entire biography to children, to the circus school," she emphasized.
