      Scammers may be sending fake letters disguised as official communications from the FSB or Roskomnadzor. TASS reports this, citing the Department for Organizing the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

      To lull victims into a false sense of security, fraudsters use official emblems and letterheads of the agencies. At the same time, psychological pressure is applied to the victim, and immediate actions are insistently demanded, such as installing a program, making a phone call, or providing information.

      Experts note that such “documents” as a rule contain crude stylistic and legal errors. In addition, they lack any information about the sender, for example the full job title or a contact number.

      Upon receiving such documents, it is recommended to take screenshots and contact law enforcement authorities.
