The previous absolute temperature minimum for March 10 was recorded over a century ago – in 1908 at the "Kazan-University" meteorological station.
On Tuesday, March 10, a new temperature record for this date was set in Kazan. This was reported by representatives of the Hydrometeorological Center of Tatarstan. According to the civil aviation meteorological station (AMSG) "Kazan-Sokol", the minimum air temperature was -30.5 degrees. According to the source, the previous absolute minimum for March 10 was recorded over a century ago – in 1908 at the "Kazan-University" meteorological station. At that time, the temperature dropped to -27.3 degrees, which is 3.2 degrees higher than the current figure. It should be noted that, according to experts' forecasts, tomorrow, March 11, will be a transitional day leading to the start of a full thaw in the region. Snow is expected at night, which will turn wet, and during the day, rain is possible in some areas. At the same time, the temperature background will show a rapid increase: while at night in the eastern regions, frosts down to -19˚ are still possible, by morning the figures will level out to -1..-6˚, and during the day will reach marks from -2 to +3˚. The transition through the zero mark will be accompanied by snowstorms and an increase in wind up to 15 m/s. By Thursday, March 12, the warming will become more noticeable: daytime temperatures will be 0..+4˚. As a result, icy conditions may appear on the roads. According to preliminary data from the Hydrometeorological Center of RT, on Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, significant precipitation is not expected, while daytime temperatures will continue to rise and will range from 0 to +5˚. Nighttime figures will also stabilize in the range of 0..-3˚. It was previously reported that already in the second decade of March, air temperatures would begin to rise.
