In Kazan, more than 20 people were held administratively responsible for organizing illegal flower sales and violating traffic rules. The State Traffic Inspectorate of Kazan conducted large-scale raids against illegal flower sellers who occupied the roadway during the pre-holiday days. According to the press service of the agency, these spontaneous points create serious obstacles for traffic, including municipal buses. During the checks, more than 20 violators were held administratively responsible. The agency's message notes that the sellers were not only issued orders for violating traffic rules as pedestrians. They were also charged with an offense under Article 12.33 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for punishment for intentionally creating obstacles in traffic. The fine under this article is 10,000 rubles. The fight against illegal trade has intensified against the backdrop of rising flower prices. This year, the median check for a bouquet from March 1 to 4 reached 4,105 rubles, which is 3 percent higher than last year's figure. Interestingly, in the online segment, the average check turned out to be even higher – 4,730 rubles, an increase of 9 percent compared to the same period in 2025. It was previously reported that Kazan ranked in the top 3 cities for booking accommodation on March 8. According to a survey conducted, during the holiday period from March 7 to 9, Russians became 40 percent more active in booking short-term accommodation compared to the same period last year. At the same time, experts had previously stated that the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan is among the most popular destinations for travelers in spring with a budget of up to 100,000 rubles.
