       In Tatarstan, citizens of Ukraine will be tried in absentia on charges of embezzling oil from a local company amounting to 10.8 billion rubles. As part of the preliminary investigation, property and shares worth 20.7 billion rubles were seized.

       The Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan has submitted a criminal case to the court against four citizens of Ukraine accused of large-scale theft of oil from a local company. The damage from their actions is estimated at 10.8 billion rubles. This was reported by RBC, citing data from the press service of the supervisory authority. According to the investigation, in 2006-2007, the accused, while outside the Russian Federation, embezzled oil totaling 858.6 thousand tons, belonging to a Tatarstan oil production enterprise. To implement the scheme, they used a broker company and acted in conjunction with other individuals, the materials of the case against whom were separated into a separate proceeding. According to the source, during the preliminary investigation, property of the accused with a total value of 10.4 billion rubles, as well as shares of an affiliated company worth 10.3 billion rubles, were seized. To date, four citizens of Ukraine have been charged in absentia under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: part 4 of article 160 (embezzlement or misappropriation) and part 1 of article 210 (organization of a criminal community). The criminal case has been sent for substantive consideration to the Almetyevsk City Court. Recently, it was reported that the court supported the reinstatement of an employee of one of the banks in Tatarstan, who had previously submitted a resignation under psychological pressure. According to the source, the woman, who had been subjected to pressure at work, was reinstated and received payments totaling nearly 778 thousand rubles.
