A new award for volunteers will be established in Tatarstan.

      Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of the republic, has approved a new type of award for those who voluntarily help others. The head of the region signed a decree establishing the honorary badge "For Contribution to the Development of Volunteerism in the Republic of Tatarstan." The document has already been published on the official portal of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to the text of the decree, the badge is awarded to individuals who engage in active volunteer activities within the territory of the republic. Externally, the award looks like a golden medallion with a diameter of 20 millimeters. It features a symbolic image: two hands cupped together, with a tulip flower and a small zircon in the center. All inscriptions are duplicated in Russian and Tatar languages. The medallion comes with a personalized certificate in a burgundy cover.

      Not everyone will be able to receive the honorary badge, only those volunteers whose experience of unpaid work is at least five years. However, there is an exception to this rule – it does not apply to volunteers who assist participants in combat operations. The initiative for the award must come from government structures or public organizations, and the final decision is made by the Interdepartmental Council for the Development of Volunteerism, to which the requests are submitted.
