However, Kazan oncologists are raising concerns: the true consequences of the vaping trend will only be noticeable in 15-20 years, when today's schoolchildren reach adulthood. Essentially, this is about getting an entire generation hooked on a new form of nicotine consumption, the consequences of which could be catastrophic.

      Oncologists: "This is not a transition to less harmful substances, but a new negative product." Doctors at the Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary note that no one has seriously studied vapes. It is unknown how long-term inhalation of vaporized liquids containing glycerin, propylene glycol, flavorings, and nicotine will affect the lungs, blood vessels, and immune system. "Given their cost and prevalence, this is not a transition from cigarettes to less 'harmful substances.' This is simply getting an entire generation hooked on another form of nicotine consumption. An important point is that this is a new negative product, from which someone profits, and we will still face consequences from this," specialists emphasize.

      Poisonings and resuscitation: real risks already today. Although oncologists do not comment on specific cases, they acknowledge that there are publications about vaping overdoses that have led to resuscitation and even fatalities. In their practice, this has not yet occurred, but the Republican Clinical Narcological Dispensary records up to 10 cases of poisoning among teenagers from vapes and tobacco each year. Children are admitted to the hospital in serious condition, often with combined poisoning, where vapes play a key role.

      A trap for avid smokers. According to medical observations, among the patients of the oncology dispensary are those who have switched from regular cigarettes to vapes. This is precisely the core of consumers who will never give up tobacco. They do not quit smoking; they simply change the method of nicotine delivery. Vapes do not help to get rid of addiction but only create the illusion of lesser harm. In reality, the user begins to vape more frequently and intensely, sometimes receiving even more nicotine and toxic compounds.

      What will happen in 15-20 years? Doctors fear an increase in lung, bronchial, laryngeal cancers, as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and cardiovascular pathologies among those who started vaping in their teenage years. The bodies of young people are especially vulnerable to any toxins, and the delayed effect may manifest when a person already has a family, job, and children. Today's frivolous attitude towards vapes may turn into a tragedy for an entire generation.
