      The Russian government has approved a large-scale expansion of the third special economic zone "Green Valley" in Tatarstan. This was reported by State Duma deputy Maxim Topilin in an interview with "Tatar-inform." According to him, the decision was made on Friday at a government commission meeting chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. The expansion is related to the creation of a new cluster focused on import substitution in the oil refining sector, deep processing of raw materials, and the development of biotechnology. Topilin noted that thanks to the expansion of the special economic zone, it is planned to attract nearly 300 billion rubles in additional investments over the next few years. In the deputy's opinion, the project will be an important step in the development of biotechnology and the production of new types of chemical products. He emphasized that this could be a revolutionary step for Tatarstan's economy in terms of its diversification. Topilin added that against the backdrop of a challenging situation in the oil markets, it is especially important to develop deep processing projects, implement new technologies, and produce goods that are currently lacking in the Russian market. According to him, this will create new growth points for the economy and serve as a foundation for improving the welfare of the residents of the republic.
